The Micmaq inhabit Nova Scotia, Cape Briton Island, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Massachusetts, and Main. The Micmaq are expert canoeist, and , although their economy once centered on fishing and hunting they now derive their income primarily from agriculture.
